REVIEW: The Correspondence of John Cotton

★★★★★   from Editornado on July 21, 2018

Fantastic research book into early-colonial Boston.

This book is EXACTLY what I hoped for. The letters are transcribed from numerous sources, and placed by date. Each letter has commentary on the condition of the holograph or transcription, the circumstances of the sender and receiver, and footnotes for obscure words or phrases. If there was a letter Cotton received and was answering point by point, that letter is also included.
